Myanmar will export 100,000 tons of rice from China


In the 2015-2016 fiscal year, a total of 1.5 million tons of rice was exported; in the first week of the last month of the 2016-2017 fiscal year, a total of 1.5 million tons of rice was exported.
Combining Myanmar's "Myawaddy" and "Yedna Bang" reported on March 15: The Secretary-General of the Myanmar Rice Association, U Ye Min Aung, said that Myanmar will sign a contract with China to export 100,000 yuan to China in April or May. For a ton of rice contract, the basic framework of the contract includes: the variety that the Chinese side needs to purchase, the quality that Myanmar needs to provide, and the payment method. Regarding quality, Myanmar will use rice milling equipment, storage warehouses and companies approved by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China to organize exports. U Do Aung Min, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce of Myanmar, said that this is another 100,000-ton rice contract signed with China after the 100,000-ton rice contract was signed last year. It is also introduced that Myanmar rice is mainly exported to China through border trade. In the past, border trade exports accounted for 80% and maritime trade accounted for 20%. But in recent years, border trade exports accounted for 60%, and maritime trade accounted for 40%. Currently, the main exporters of Myanmar rice are Kenya, Indonesia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and other ASEAN countries. According to data released by the Myanmar Ministry of Commerce, Myanmar exported 1.8 million tons of rice in the 2014-2015 fiscal year; in the 2015-2016 fiscal year, it exported a total of 1.5 million tons of rice; the 2016-2017 fiscal year ended in the first week of the last month. A total of 1.5 million tons of rice were exported.
